A Letter from Dr. David Bell
The biosphere of our planet – that remarkably thin band that makes life possible – is deteriorating at a rapid pace. Although environmental awareness has grown to the point where the word “green” is almost commonplace, the reality is, we still have a long way to go in changing our lifestyle to ensure a sustainable future.
In an effort to continue to promote positive change, I have partnered with my friends at Bosch Home Appliances to launch the “Canadian Eco-Leader Award”. This award showcases Bosch’s continued commitment to recognizing and celebrating thought leaders who promote a more sustainable lifestyle within their communities. This search will focus on the type of leadership that sets trends and creates meaningful conversations about the environment.
We are encouraging Canadians to nominate Eco-Leaders, those individuals whose efforts exemplify Bosch’s five principles of environmental protection – sustainability, responsibility, products, processes and continuous improvement – within their communities. To nominate an Eco-Leader,please visit “The Eco-Leader Award” tab on our website.
Bosch is one company that has been “green” long before Al Gore made it fashionable. Not only is Bosch one of the few companies to exceed Energy Star qualifications on home appliances within their respective categories, the company is also an energy leader that ensures their products are eco-friendly from concept to crate and beyond – a full product life cycle sustainability commitment.
As consumers, it is our responsibility to remain educated about our choices and to support the companies that help make our future “greener”. I hope you are inspired to nominate an Eco-Leader in your community and to encourage your friends and family to do the same.
Best Regards,
Dr. David Bell
